APPLIES TO: Public Liability, Personal Accident.
The legal requirements in most states in Australia do not allow riding Segways in public areas (roads, beaches, footpaths or parks). This restriction is due to the powerful electric motor used in Segways (1500 watts). Anyone riding a Segway in a public place could be fined for driving an unregistered vehicle.
The Duck members Public Liability policy excludes claims relating to vehicles that are required to be registered. This exclusion also applies to the use of vehicles that are unregistered and are being used in breach of legislation relating to Vehicles. Exclusion 3.22 in policy wording.
