There are two ways of covering a group with Duck for Cover:
GA
1) You can all join as individuals each paying the individual membership fee, and then register as a group at no extra cost using the GA form.
Community Performing Group or Theatre Group cover
or 2) You can take out Community Performing Group or Theatre Group (CPG TG) cover which covers the group name and anyone performing as part of the group is covered but only while they are performing as part of the group. This does not require the individual names of performers; they just need to be performing as part of the group. This option is only available to certain types of groups such as bands, theatre groups and dance troupes. It is not available for all activities.
Which type of cover will suit your group best depends on a couple of factors: how many members you have, whether the group line-up is stable or may change, the types of performances you do and whether you or any performers in your group need cover for teaching and workshops.
Our definition of a group is any group of performers, performing at the same time, in the same place in the one group.
How much will it cost?
Please check our website for the current rates for groups.
Rates for Groups
- If you are intending to join as a Community Performing or Theatre Group, there will be one fee.
- If you are all planning to join as individuals, you would need to calculate how much it would be for each individual member to join.
What is my group covered for?
Our Public Liability policy is a $30 million policy. There is an optional Performing Equipment cover that can cover Performing Equipment that is owned jointly by the group which you can take out for an additional premium. It does not cover your individual instruments.
For how long is my group covered?
